The question is what will it take for the people claiming to be God's people to return to the God of the Pilgrim/Puritan forefathers? | |||

| Josiah killed in the battle with Pharoah Neco in -A608 AC (609 B.C.). Neco takes Jehoahaz, Josiah's heir, captive to Egypt. Josiah's death releases YHWH's judgments on Israel. None of his sons follow YHWH, leading the people down a path of wickedness, although there is still a faithful remnant in the land. | Possible Pattern: Eventually, the leadership fails and the nation falls away from the one true God. This argues that "the swamp" went quiet during Josiah's reign and waited for an opportunity to remove Josiah. The corruption in the government and priesthood likely ran very deep. | |||
